What gets you through your workout?

So we all have those days where we need a little extra umph to to get to the gym. Well making it there is half the battle but once you’re there it can also be a struggle :( I hate those days where I leave and feel like my workout just wasn’t up to par so I’ve started exploring different ways that put that excitement and energy into my workout when i’m feeling less than enthusiastic. And Im not talking about a triple shot of expresso :) What I’ve discovered is that angry music sometimes does the trick to give me the aggression I need to really power through it but at the same time I don’t want to channel negativity!

The other day I put a bit of angry female music on the ipod (like some classic Alanis Morissette “You Oughta Know and some kick butt country Gretchen Wilson’s “Gun Powder & Lead” to name a couple) while I watched cartoons on the TV screen. Yep I was watching cartoons! Dont even know what it was but it was making me smile. :) Ahh the key- happiness and aggression together haha but boy was I rockin’ it out on the elliptical! Whats your secret weapon against a lame workout?
